Can I get public transport to the hotel?

Yes.

Travelling from Letterkenny / Derry

Northwest Bus services travel from Letterkenny and Derry and can stop at the hotel. You can view their timetable on their website. There are also taxi services available from Derry and Letterkenny and local taxi’s available in Buncrana town. 

Travelling from Dublin

John Mc Ginley Bus travels from Dublin & Dublin airport, Monday to Sunday. View timetable here.

Travelling from Belfast

Translink  bus and train travels daily from Belfast to Derry. From Derry, You can get the McGonagle Bus which will take you to Buncrana.

 

What is there to do around the hotel?

The Inishowen Gateway Hotel is centrally located for guests to enjoy Buncrana and Donegal. From coastal walks to Wildlife Parks – Check out our activities page.  

What leisure facilities are available at The Inishowen Gateway Hotel?

Guests have complimentary use of the leisure centre during their stay. The facilities include a fully equipped fitness suite, a swimming pool, a sauna and steam room. Children’s times are also available for the swimming pool, with a small pool for children.

The Inishowen Gateway Hotel also has the relaxing Seagrass Wellbeing Centre, with a wide range of treatments available. Spa treatments are advised to be booked in advance online or by calling us on +353 (0)74 93 61144. 

The hotel offers complimentary golf in the Buncrana Golf Club, subject to availability.

Does the hotel have a car park and is it included in the rate?

Yes, the Inishowen Gateway Hotel offers complimentary car parking for our guests.

What is the cancellation policy?

We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for all room cancellations. If we do not receive the minimum notice or if you fail to show up to the hotel on the date of your booking the full charge of the booking will be automatically charged to your card. In the event of a late/non arrival, the hotel reserves the right to process payment on the card details provided on the booking, after 6pm on the day of check in.

What does your "no show" policy entail?

If you do not show on the day of your booking, you will be charged the full amount of your reservation.

What time is check in?

Check-in is from 4.00pm.

What time is check out?

Check-out is at 12:00 pm

Is it possible to get a late check out?

Late check-out is subject to availability. It may be possible to check-out later than 12:00 am with a fee. It is advisable to discuss the possibility of this with our Front Office team at the reception desk.

What is the hotel’s credit card policy?

We require a credit card to make and secure a booking. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards. If guests would like to add charges to their room during their stay the reception team will need a pre-authorisation of a credit card.

Can I arrange for amenities or gifts to be placed in the room? What do you offer?

Yes, we offer a variety of welcome amenities that can be placed in a guest’s bedroom. When making your room reservation you can add on a wide range of options such as a sweet plates, chocolates and cards.

Can items in the package be swapped or changed?

No, items in the package cannot be swapped for anything else for example you cannot swap a round of golf for a spa treatment.

Do you have cots for children?

We can offer to include one baby cot into most of our room types, free of charge. Cots must be requested in advance.

What is the cost of adding a child to the booking?

Children 0-2 years of age are free of charge and children 3-14 years of age are €20 per child per night for bed & breakfast.

Are pets permitted?

Only certified guide dogs are permitted in our hotel.

Is there a lift in the hotel?

Yes, there is a lift in the hotel.

Do you have wheelchair accessible rooms?

We have wheelchair accessible rooms available to book. This room type must be requested when making the reservation.

Do you provide irons and ironing boards for use during my stay?

Yes, all our bedrooms are equipped with one iron and an ironing board for your complimentary use.

Can you provide babysitting?

Unfortunately, babysitting services are not available in the hotel.

Do you have connecting rooms?

Yes, we offer interconnecting room types. Each of these is comprised of one double bed, a twin bed and a desktop area.

Do you have room service?

Yes, we offer room service.

Is internet access available?

Yes, guests have complimentary access to our hotel’s Wi-Fi in all areas of the hotel.

What time does breakfast stop?

Breakfast is served Monday to Friday 7.15am until 10.00am

Saturday and Sunday 8.00am to 11.00am

How much is breakfast?

If you do not have breakfast included in your package or if you are not staying in the hotel, breakfast costs €14.95 per adult and €7.95 per child.

What Spa Facilities are available at the Inishowen Gateway hotel?

Our therapists offer a thoughtfully curated selection of therapies designed to help you relax, restore and rejuvenate. From YonKa facials, and therapeutic massages to lymphatic drainage & advanced wellness treatments including the Infrared Sauna, PEMF Bed and Pressotherapy.

We recommend booking spa treatments in advance to avoid disappointment.

Can I visit Seagrass Wellbeing Centre without staying at the hotel?

Yes, Seagrass Wellbeing Centre is open to non-residents to relax and unwind.

Do you offer luggage storage facilities?

Yes, the Inishowen Gateway Hotel offer convenient luggage storage facilities for guests.

Can I upgrade to a seaview room?

Yes, if you wish to upgrade to a Seaview room it will be €20 night. Please contact the hotel to amend your booking.

Is the hotel on the Wild Atlantic Way?

The Inishowen Gateway Hotel is located on the Wild Atlantic Way and is an ideal base for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way.
